LOCATION: Townsville is located approx. 1500 km north of Brisbane (Queensland's capital city) by road, or 1½ hours by air travel.

BeachTownsville is the home of the NRL team, The Cowboys and the NBL team, The Crocs. The Townsville region comprises a population of approx. 160,000 and is widely regarded as a key destination in North Queensland.

Surrounded by a rich hinterland of tropical rainforests and waterfalls, Townsville is also close to historic gold mining towns, the outback, islands, and of course, the Great Barrier Reef.

It is home to internationally renowned Reef HQ, the world's largest living coral reef aquarium, the Billabong Sanctuary, where you can be treated to guided tours and informative talks all about Australia's fascinating native wildlife.

FishingIf you like to dive you have access to the Yongala Wreck, one of Australia's best wreck dive sites. There are also plenty of tours available to explore the local national parks and surrounding rural townships.

Magnetic Island is an island paradise awaiting you on the doorstep. It is only a short journey from the city of Townsville.
